EOI 2024 windmill grass resistance survey

Have you got hard to kill Windmill Grass on your place

Do you have windmill grass in your cropping paddocks? How well have you been able to control it with herbicides? Have you had variable results?

Do you know if your windmill grass is resistant to the herbicides you are using?

During the autumn of 2024 GOA is undertaking a resistance survey of populations of windmill grass in the GOA region to better understand the current resistance status of this troublesome weed, which may explain variability in control and help growers employ more reliable herbicide approaches.

Samples will be tested at no cost to the grower but sampling, handling and postage of seed samples will be the growers' responsibility.

There is a limited number of sample tests that are available so if you are interested you are invited to fill out the simple expression of interest form by clicking here.

From the recieved EOIs sucessful applicants will be notified and instruction sent as to how to collect and submitt seed samples.

Samples will be tested to a range of herbicdes commonly used to manage the weed.

The results will be will be publicly available but GOA guarantees complete anonymity of the growers name, locations and advisors.

EOI's close by the end of April, however it may close prior and without notice if sufficient applications are recieved before the close date. Over subscription may result in first in first served basis.
